[uptime]
[characteristics]   [it infrastructure]
The availability of secure production equipment is a critical business factor for productive enterprises. It is founded on a proper usage and similarly on a qualified maintenance. Operating manuals for machines and devices have been the designers´ traditional duty - and hardly anybody liked this job. Contentwise such manuals concentrated on setup and operation of the machine constructed. Maintenance topics were often knowingly left to the user, to the operator.
Product liability and the global business with its long distance service needs in the end made maintenance to what it is today: a strategic business factor.
Top management increasingly understands maintenance as an integrated component of machine delivery. Therefore, a complete system of today - besides modules like control system or process visualisation - also consists of an integrated component for maintenance management.

[uptime] is the computer based implementation of the production concept TPM - "Total Productive Maintenance". [uptime]´s innovative approach ties the manufacturers interest even closer to his customers´ thus intensifying customer loyalty. The ultimate ambition is the secure, uninterrupted and competitive operation of the equipment delivered while optimizing the utilization of both partners` resources like IT, stock material or service personnel.
By delivering maintenance management the machine supplier demonstratively identifies with his product throughout its lifetime. With computer based diagnostic functions he secures his product´s availability. At the same time he systematically prepares the related after sales market when giving a clearly structured documentation of spare parts and their lifecycles. Product liability risks are significantly reduced by electronically organised, distinct information and instructions. Utilizing the latest database technology the machine operator has quick and direct access to an always up-to-date, conforming to standards and paperless documentation anywhere, at any time. The machine supplier on the other hand electronically takes in all the factually documented results of his machine´s operative life - clearly structured for analysis, without any travelling expenses.

[uptime] is a well thought-out piece of software for the PC-based organisation of maintenance workflows. With [uptime] - being delivered as an integrated part of the machine - opens up this potential by
  • a computer based workflow management in the spirit of TPM, always on-site
  • an online user guidance with photo illustrated working instructions in everyday operations and
  • a defined interface for data exchange between customer and manufacturer
In its standard version [uptime] is designed for preventive maintenance. The necessary maintenance actions for secure machine operation may be defined according to the operating company´s total quality management policy. Additionally [uptime] is prepared for condition based maintenance, as targeted today by the principles of Total Productive Maintenance, of course. A fundamental step when implementing TPM is the integration of the even today quite often still divided functions production and maintenance. Following the idea of TPM the machine operator maintains the machine by himself, he even fixes breakdowns according to his capability. Crucial prerequisites for this are training of operators in maintenance on the one hand and, on the other hand, availability of all relevant information on-site at the machine - at any time. [uptime] trains personnel on the job when unmistakeably presenting the information needed on the PC.
Interfaces for entering measured machine or process data allow a scheduling of maintenance actions depending on production demands and/or machine condition.

The module "spare part management" clearly specifies the purchase order, on your customers´ fingertip. Why then should your customer take the tedious work to search competitive products from different catalogues and purchase somewhere else?

A picture tells 1.000 words! The picture based working instructions present their content in an extremely descriptive way. Risks are excluded even in foreign languages, the product liability reduces to a minimum.

[uptime] develops today´s crucial competitive factors "customer retention" and "continuous improvement of productive equipment" to powerful strategic and operative weapons for manufacturers.
